I really hate running...

I also hate going to the gym (most of the time).
Unfortunately that's where the treadmill is.........

Guess I am going to the gym to run.

Surprise!

Wanna know a little secret?

I love being surprised. Love. It.

Not the kind of surprise where you know it's coming but you don't know what it is. Those surprises torture me. Ex. "I got you a surprise! But you can't have it yet." I hear that and I cringe. Why would you even bring it up?!?? Even if it's not for me, I start thinking about what the surprise could be. I do this with strangers. That's how much it drives me nuts.

I love the ones that are completely unexpected. The ones that blind side you. In a good way of course. Those are the best. Like randomly getting flowers from someone who loves you or just going on a random unplanned adventure with your best friend or finding $20 in your back pocket. I could give a million examples but I think you get it. Those are the surprises I love.

Unexpected but oh so wonderful.

seriously....

I am such a dweeb. For more than one reason.

1. It's Friday night and I am laying on my bed in sweatpants and a sweatshirt playing games on my iphone
2. I keep cracking up at the "conversation" my dad and I had while sitting on the couch today
3. I have been tired since 7:30 pm. What?
4. and I have no plans of changing my current situation. hahaha

Flatts Fest 2011

This last weekend my parents, the twins, and I went up to San Bernardino to see the Rascal Flatts in concert.

They were amazing.

It was originally supposed to be just my parents, Harper, and Blair but my dad surprised me saturday morning by telling me he had bought another ticket. I almost didn't go though because I was already so tired from the night before (I had been in the ER until after midnight and then had a 45 minute drive home, but that's another story). My dad said that was fine and he would just sell it up there to someone outside the concert. He and my mom left to go to the gym and when they got back they told me to pack up cuz they weren't leaving without me. hahaha I obviously didn't fight that too much. I knew it would be an awesome concert. So we packed up the car and drove two hours to the hotel we were staying at for the night. Justin Moore and Sara Evans opened for the Rascal Flatts and they were all SO good! The Rascal Flatts were seriously so good live. The lead singer is 41 years old and can hit notes that I can only imagine hitting! If you ever have the chance, go to their concert. Seriously. You won't regret it. Money well spent. Promise. My dad has been wanting to see them in concert for soooo long, he was like a little boy on Christmas morning all night. I am glad he took us all with him :)

Here are some pics from the night:

I took some videos but they are struggling to upload on here so I will add one later :)

Ciao!

I was driving to work this morning and this song came on. I love the lyrics.

I know I posted about 9/11 yesterday. I found this news recap on cnn.com. Since I was only 10, I didn't see or remember all of this on the news that morning. At one point one reporter says "That is about as frightening a scene as you will ever see." I didn't make it through this video without crying. I hope that we will always remember and move forward with all of these people in our hearts. We live in the greatest country in the world and we have really shown that in the past 10 years.

We never realize how truly fragile life is until something like what happened 10 years ago today happens.

My heart goes out to all those children and spouses who lost loved ones. I honor all those heroes who ran back in the building when it would have been so easy to run away from it. I am grateful for all those men and women who went overseas to protect this land we all love so much. I am grateful for all our troops today who continue to fight for freedom. I honor all men and women in our military.

I will never forget.

I was ten on 9/11/01. I was in the 5th grade. I remember exactly where I was standing when I saw the news. I remember the silence in my living room. I remember not really understanding why I was seeing what I was seeing, but that it was something terrible. I remember my grandmother just getting up and leaving without saying anything. She drove all the way back to Utah that day. I remember going to school and everyone was lining up and talking about what was on the news. I remember taking my seat in class and everyone fell silent, for a long time. I remember the fear, uncertainty, and hurt of that day.

But then, I remember how our country stood strong and tall as one.

I know a lot of people say Toby Keith is too over the top or ridiculous with some of his America songs, but every time I hear this song I think of how everyone felt those following September mornings. (well maybe not everyone felt this way...but I certainly did as a little 10 year old)

I really just love that song. Every time it comes on I can't help but remember that day. The anger, hurt, pride, and unity we felt as a whole country.

I hope we can all forget our small worries for just one day. May we remember and honor all those fallen heroes from the past 10 years and what they have done for our country.

Sometimes.....

I feel like I am wearing my pajamas to work.

Not a good picture, but I am not complaining about the outfit!
